Pedestrian Critically Injured, Driver Hospitalized In South Jersey Crash: Police

A Franklin Township woman was critically injured when she was hit while crossing a road in Malaga, authorities said.

The 20-year-old woman was struck near the Riggins and Wawa gas stations, the Franklin Township Police Department said in a news release on Friday, Oct. 11.

Officers responded to the crash at around 7:49 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Police found the woman lying in the southbound lane of Delsea Drive and a white pickup with front-end damage.

Investigators said the pickup was traveling south on Delsea when the truck hit the woman in the road. She was rushed to Cooper University Hospital in Camden where she was listed in critical condition

The 50-year-old Vineland man who drove the pickup was brought to Inspira Hospital in Elmer with minor injuries.
